Re-branding the bi-monthly Blck Market into a digital platform

SCALING A STRONG IDENTITY

The Blck Market Houston brand was already regional solid, but how do you adjust it to make it more scalable for a nationwide audience. Our mission was just that. With over 30,000 visitors per month to the in-person event, we had to create a digital presence that would rival the market’s physical experience.

Changing a brand is a considerable risk and is not something that is done without a reason. There’s a lot at stake, and when done incorrectly, it will have significant consequences. We created brand new colorways and design esthetics, built a fully- responsive e-commerce website, developed a strong message and brand voice and shot commercials that reinforced the Blck Markets positioning.

ADDING COLOR AND CULTURE

The Blck Market brand felt too stoic and serious. After conducting research we found that 75% of the Blck Market’s clients were females. So we decide to spice up the identity and position the brand to appeal to more women.

CREATING A DIGITAL MARKETPLACE FOR THE CULTURE

Nowadays, if you’re selling anything—whether that’s sneakers, socks, or something in between—you need to hop on board the ecommerce website train. An ecommerce site offers you the chance to build your brand, connect with more customers, and sell more products—but only if you’ve got the right website design.

When it comes to shopping online, people want to buy from established brands—not faceless ecommerce sites that look like a front for trying to steal your credit card information. Keeping the brand identity strong was a high priority within the build of the website.

Developing a solid content strategy

 Every brand needs to see that the importance of video is skyrocketing and realize that they need to be on board or else they’ll be left behind. Our  thought process of concentrating on producing content that speaks to specific audiences is really what creating a video content strategy is all about.

As part of our video content strategy, we make sure our clients have  flagship videos that tells people who they are and what they do. 

Just creating awesome video content is not enough. The other part of our strategy is using the right techniques and platforms to make sure that people are seeing the content.
